SENIOR ENGINEER/SCIENTIST - LOWER HUTT

CRL Energy’s Technology group is is a research and consulting team with experience and specialist knowledge in new clean energy technologies such as coal and biomass conversion and a strong history in all aspects of fossil fuel energy, particularly coal-related research.
We have a vacancy for a senior engineer/scientist capable of both leading and contributing to our diverse research and consulting projects. This is an opportunity to be involved in world-leading research and help shape New Zealand’s energy future. You will be expected to liaise with customers and develop new contacts, identify niche areas for development and grow capabilities. This challenging position would suit someone with a minimum of five years experience within an industrial or applied research environment, a strong commercial background, and hands-on abilities. It will provide significant opportunity for personal growth. You will be based at our Lower Hutt offices on the Gracefield Science Park.
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
- A proven record in industry, applied engineering or scientific research.
- A broad knowledge of energy technologies.
- A proven record in writing and succeeding with funding proposals
- Commercial acumen
- A post-graduate science or engineering degree (chemical/process/mechanical/mechatronics)
- Project management experience
- A passion to lead and to grow
- The ability to relate positively with customers.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

We have a vacancy for an engineer capable of being a significant contributor to our various research and consulting projects. This is an opportunity to be involved in world-leading research and help shape New Zealand’s energy future. This position also offers the chance to lead and develop our new mine safety research programme. The successful applicant will be expected to liaise with customers on site. Based at our Lower Hutt offices on the Gracefield Science Park, the position would suit someone with post graduate experience and will provide many challenges and opportunities for personal growth.

GEOLOGIST - WESTPORT
CRL Energy Ltd has a vacancy for a Geologist based in our new Westport Office. This is a permanent fulltime position to assist our busy coal-related consulting, analysis, and research activities.
Candidates should have:
- A geology or related qualification;
- A good level of fitness; and
- Experience in field mapping and with drilling operations.
We are looking for someone with capababilty in geological resource assessment, an understanding of the environmental issues related to mining, an awareness of health and safety in mining, and an interest in coal-related research and innovation.
Our new Westport location will provide the gateway to CRL Energy's research, geology, analytical, and technology services in Christchurch and Wellington, so the appointee will have the motivation and enthusiasm required to be involved in business expansion activities.
